The fifth concert of the 2017-2018 season of the Fundació Studium Aureum, directed by Carles Ponseti, is dedicated to this cycle of seven cantatas by German-Danish composer and organist Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707).
Buxtehude composed Membra Jesu Nostri in 1680 in honor of the Swedish organist and composer Gustav Düben. Each of the seven parts in which it is divided is dedicated to a part of the crucified body of Jesus Christ: feet, knees, hands, side, chest, heart and head.
Half an hour before the concert, the composer Mercè Pons will offer an introductory talk about the composer and the work.
