The Tian Gombau company stages, through object and shadow theatre, this play written by Jordi Palet i Puig.
Mon pare cremava pedres tells the story of Sagal, the son of a calciner. Lime used to be a fundamental material for building houses, but there came a time when the way of building changed... and the profession of calciner disappeared. The man who burned stones had to rebuild himself, and Sagal helped him.
It also speaks of the fascination with fire, this dangerous element and at the same time essential to life.
A craft trade, a family living in the rural world, fire and traditional festivals, make up the human landscape where this story takes place, in a time not so distant as it seems. Playing with memory helps us keep it alive.
