Can Balaguer presents the installation of two pieces by Mar Guerrero and Cristina Vinyals, produced at Casa Planas with the sponsorship of Aedas Home within the new Arts & Crafts program, with the collaboration of ACCAIB.
Mar Guerrero (Palma 1991) studied Fine Arts in Cuenca and completed a master's degree in artistic production at the University of Valencia. She has carried out artistic residencies in Belgrade, London, Atacama, Alberta, Reykjavik, Johannesburg, Madrid, Santander and Miami. In 2020 she was a finalist for the City of Palma Antoni Gelabert Awards and in 2023 she received the Barbara H. Weil Art for Change Award from Studio Weil in Andratx. The piece that can be seen at Can Balaguer will be an intervention with a sound component in the Chimney Room on the main floor.
Cristina Vinyals (Mallorca 1988) completed her studies at the Reus School of Architecture in 2011. After a decade of work in the field of architecture, in 2023 she turned to artistic creation and currently creates works that combine natural materials and recycled glass. Her intervention in Can Balaguer will consist of an aerial garment in the courtyard of the center.
