The 16th Pianino Festival continues its journey with this concert by the very young pianist Chun Lam U (Hong Kong, 2002) in the Cell of F. Chopin and G. Sand at the Cartuja de Valldemossa.
Chun Lam U has won top awards in numerous local and international competitions. His achievements include prizes at the George Enescu International Piano Competition, the Van Cliburn Youth Piano Competition, the Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists, the Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians, and the Hanoi International Piano Competition.
One of his most recent awards was third prize at the 2024 Maria Canals Piano Competition in Barcelona. He stood out in the competition final for his outstanding performance of Rachmaninov's fabulous Piano Concerto No. 3.
Chun Lam has collaborated with numerous orchestras, including the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, the Salzburg Chamber Soloists, the VNAM Symphony Orchestra, and the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Kensho Watanabe, Peter Bay, Lavard Skou-Larsen, and David Gómez Ramírez.
