Canadian violinist Helen Hwaya Kim performs at the 2025 Deià International Music Festival, accompanied on piano by Alfredo Oyágüez Montero, the Festival's artistic director.

Helen Hwaya Kim joined the music faculty at Kennesaw State University in 2006 with a stellar career. She made her debut with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of six and has become a respected and sought-after artist. She has appeared as a soloist with the Boston Pops at Boston's Symphony Hall, as well as with the Milwaukee and Atlanta Symphony Orchestras.

She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from the Juilliard School, where her teachers included Cho-Liang Lin and Dorothy DeLay. While at Juilliard, she was concertmaster of the Juilliard Orchestra and won the Juilliard Concerto Competition, both at the pre-university and undergraduate levels. He has received more than one hundred national and international awards, including the prestigious New York International Artists Competition, and as a result, gave debut recitals at Carnegie Weill Hall and the Aspen Summer Music Festival.

The Deià International Music Festival 2025 is celebrated from May 14 to September 24 with concerts in: Son Marroig (Deià), Palau March (Palma), Bodegas Santa Caterina (Sencelles), the Fundació Miró Mallorca and the Deià Cemetery. The pianist Alfredo Oyágüez Montero is the artistic director of the festival.
