Fourth concert of the VII Festival Internacional de Música Antiga de Caimari. It is celebrated in the church of this town and has as protagonists the Italian musicians Lorenzo Ghielmi (organ) and Diego Castelli (violin). They play a program with works by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Lorenzo Ghielmi has dedicated himself for years to study and play Renaissance and Baroque music, being one of the most important interpreters of Bach's organ and cello work. His recordings of Bruhns, Bach and the concert of Handel and Hayden for organ and orchestra have been awarded the Diapason d'or.
He is a professor of organ, harpsichord and chamber music at the Civica Scuola in Milan, organist of the Ahrend organ of the Basilica of Milan San Simpliciano, where he performed the work of Opera Omnia for organ of J.S. Bach, and directs the instrumental ensemble La Divina Armonia, among other attributions.
For his part, Diego Castelli graduated in 2006 with honors at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan in the specialty of violin. Between 2008-2010 he did international advanced courses and is currently doing a postgraduate course at the Conservatory of Ghent in the class of maestro Alessandro Moccia.
He collaborates with numerous ensembles, such as the Verdi symphony orchestra in Milan, the ensemble Arcantico, Ghislieri choir & consort, il Divertimento Ensemble, La Divina Armonía and Atalanta Fugiens, among others, as well as being a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Imola and Camerata of Geneva. He has recorded CDs for Emi Classic, Deutsche Armonia Mundy, Sony.
