From August 2 to November 9, 2025, Es Baluard Museu presents Paysage Miró. Painting Among Things, an in-depth exploration of Joan Miró’s artistic evolution. This exhibition captures his poetic use of signs, textures, and gestures in a journey spanning over 60 years.
Featuring works from 1916 to 1978, the show traces Miró’s shift from figurative landscapes to radical abstraction, where blue stains and simplified forms become powerful symbols. Milestones such as the 1925 painting bearing the phrase “ceci est la couleur de mes rêves” or his expressive large-scale compositions of the 1970s reflect his search for visual freedom.
The exhibition also includes sculptural pieces and bas-reliefs that highlight the painterly quality of his three-dimensional works. It portrays a bold Miró who challenged academic norms and sought a language rooted in instinct, childhood drawings, and primal mark-making.
Organized in collaboration with Museo Reina Sofía, Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró, Galeria Pelaires, and Successió Miró, this project extends across four venues in Palma: La Llotja, Casal Solleric, Fundació Miró Mallorca, and Es Baluard. Each space contributes a unique perspective to a collective landscape of Miró’s legacy.
