In 1965 Carloandrés got to know the town of Morella, in Castellón, and he traveled from then until 1978, every summer to the capital of the region of Los Puertos. This exhibition, which brings together works made during this period by the artist, was shown last summer in the Justice Hall of Morella Town Hall and can now be seen at the Fundació Coll Bardolet de Valldemossa.
Retorn a Morella 1965-1978, curated by his son Andreu Carles López Seguí, presents two groups of works: 55 oil paintings on canvas of different formats made between 1965 and 1970, and works on paper with some drawings that complement them. As for the theme, Carloandrés portrays the landscape of Morella, both the streets and the roads and mountains of the place capturing 'the luminosity of the Spanish Levante', as the critic and poet José Hierro pointed out.
Carloandrés was born in 1926 in Sada (A Coruña) and studied at the Superior School of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid, making his first solo exhibition in the Mateu Hall in Valencia in 1948. Since 1958 he has lived in Ibiza.
