Every year, the Pianino Festival celebrates the anniversary of Frédéric Chopin's birth (1810-1849). This year, it does so with a concert by Belgian pianist Eliane Reyes and a lecture in Spanish by Piotr Mysłakowski entitled En torno a la incierta fecha de cumpleaños de Fryderyk Chopin.
Eliane Reyes began her musical training at an early age. In 1988, she was awarded a prize by the Cziffra Foundation in Senlis (France), and performed at the Tibor Varga Festival in Sion (Switzerland), as well as with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam under the direction of Sergiu Comissiona.
She continued her studies at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels, at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, at the Hochschule des Künste in Berlin and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. She perfected her skills at the Lemmensinstituut and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris.
She has won several prizes in international competitions, such as the first prize in Ettlingen, Germany, or the Cervantes Prize in Cuba. She has been invited by renowned musicians and conductors for concerts and her discography includes works by N. Bacri, F. Chopin, C. Debussy, Benjamin Godard, Darius Milhaud, A. Tansman. She has received awards such as the Pianiste Maestro from the French magazine Pianiste, or La Clef d’or from ResMusica for her recording of the 24 Intermezzi by A. Tansman. She has been nominated three times for the International Classical Music Awards.
She is currently a professor at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. In 2016 she was awarded the prestigious insignia of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Minister of Culture.

Piotr Mysłakowski (Krakow, 1944) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, an interior designer, graphic designer and editor, genealogist and chopinologist. A former UNESCO expert, he is a member and former Vice-President of the Council of the Polish Heraldic Society, a member of the Historical and Literary Society of Paris and the F. Chopin Society, and an Honorary Member of the Canadian Chopin Society.
Together with Andrzej Sikorski, he has been researching Chopin's family and entourage for years, hence their joint books: Rodzina matki Chopina. Mity i rzeczywistość (2000), Chopinowie. Krąg rodzinnotowarzyski (2005) and Fryderyk Chopin. Korzenie (2009).
Author of dozens of historical and biographical articles, mostly about Chopin, he was a scientific advisor to the Fryderyk Chopin Institute; co-created the final version of the multimedia content of the Chopin Museum in Warsaw; compiled the complete genealogy of the descendants of Mikołaj and Justyna Chopin, the history of Chopin's Heart and recognised the legal status of Chopin's Grave in Paris.
The XVI Pianino Festival programs eight concerts to be held in the Celda de F. Chopin and G. Sand de la Cartuja de Valldemossa from February 1 to October 5, 2025.
