Theatre returns to one of Mallorca's most striking venues: a 1st-century AD Roman theatre carved into the rock, open to the sky and under the stars. 🎭🌙
The company Teatreros presents EL SIMPOSI, a comedy in the style of the classics directed by Francesca Palou, as part of the 38th Mostra de Teatre of Alcúdia.

📖 The story
This is the story, the possible story, of a merchant's farewell dinner. Emporos is a Phocaean merchant who, by the designs of gods and men, lives in the port of Elea, in Magna Graecia.
With a hand-picked crew, he must set sail the next day towards the west, in the 6th century BC, towards an uncertain, unpredictable and unsuspected destiny. We will see what is cooking in his kitchen.
A comedy that seeks to emulate the ancient ones: funny, instructive and beautiful all at once.
🏛️ A stage with 2,000 years of history
The Roman Theatre of Pollentia is the only Roman theatre preserved in Mallorca. Every summer the Mostra de Teatre of Alcúdia returns it to its original purpose, turning its stone tiers into an open-air auditorium.
🌙 Agost a la fresca
The performance is part of Agost a la fresca, the programme with which the Culture Department of Alcúdia Town Council fills the whole of August with theatre, music, cinema and popular culture in the streets, courtyards and open spaces of the town.
ℹ️ Good to know: open-air performance with limited capacity. Arriving early is recommended, along with a light jacket for the evening. The performance is in Catalan.
✨ Classical comedy, Roman stone and open sky. One of the most special free events of Mallorca's cultural summer.
