🎹 About the exhibition
The Palma City Council, in collaboration with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in WarsawThis exhibition has been organized to showcase the influence that time spent in Mallorca had on the works of Chopin and George Sand. The project has benefited from contributions from the Museu de Mallorca, the Associació Can Vivot, and the Casa Museu Can Marquès.
The exhibition is divided into two rooms. The first is dedicated to the landscape and gastronomic culture of Mallorca, and includes three landscape paintings on loan from the Museu de Mallorca, two glass cloches with flowers, and a collection of copper utensils and other elements of traditional cuisine.
The other room incorporates all the museum exhibits from the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw. Highlights include a large painting of the composer's final moments at the piano, a bronze replica of his hand, twelve original preludes, and portraits of the key figures.
🏰 The Bellver Castle
The exhibition can be visited in the Sales de la Capella, on the first floor of the 14th-century Gothic castle that overlooks the Bay of Palma and which today houses the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat.
