When night falls, the old town of Alcúdia fills with lights and songs. This is the Festa de ses Llanternes. 🏮🌙

A children's lantern parade through the historic centre as part of the Sant Bartomeu festivities, accompanied by the best-known folk songs.

🏮 A parade of light

Children walk the streets of the old town carrying lit lanterns, many of them handmade that very morning at the workshop on Passeig Pere Ventayol.

The route is accompanied by the best-known folk songs, sung along the way. A simple and beautiful sight within the walls of Alcúdia.

🎪 Sant Bartomeu

The parade is part of the Sant Bartomeu festivities and is organised by Sarau Alcudienc, the group that keeps much of the town's popular culture alive.

ℹ️ Part of the Agost a la fresca programme, with which the Culture Department of Alcúdia Town Council fills August with theatre, music, cinema and popular culture in the streets, courtyards and open spaces of the town.
