Galilea, Mallorca's smallest village, dresses up for its biggest party: the Festes de la Mare de Déu 2026, days of reunion, tradition and community entirely organised by volunteers from the Amics de Galilea association. 🎉🥁

👹 29.08 - Dimoni de Neu (Snow Demon) comes out, with bell ringing and the raising of the festival banner.

🍷 30.08, 9 pm - Children's embutar and, a few days later, 04.09, 10 pm - Embutar, Galilea's emblematic game.

🎪 06.09 - Gran Revetla street party with Mercurio Retrógrado, Aftersuns and DJ Kavot.

👗 28-30.08 - Decorated house contest, with prizes, entries accepted until 8 September.

Friday 28.08: table football tournament (5 pm) and ping-pong tournament (6.30 pm), pétanque on the sand (8 pm) and Galilea Karaoke Night with Etxem de Lloca (10 pm), Sa Plaça.

Saturday 29.08: decorating the village entrance and street painting at s'Escopidor (10 am); vermouth with the Myotragus street band (11.30 am); bell ringing and raising of the festival banner with bagpipers (6 pm); the Dimoni de Neu comes out; opening address by Francisca Balaguer, Xisqueta (7.30 pm); Lindy Hop evening with Swingitaliamo (10 pm), all at Sa Plaça.

Sunday 30.08: children's workshop to make a plush Dimoni de Neu (10 am, advance booking required); swap market using local currency and cake sale for charity (10.30 am); children's embutar game, up to age 12 (11 am); Astronautes Estrellats show (noon); fruit triathlon (5.30 pm); popular dance with the Al-Mayurqa group (9 pm), Sa Plaça.

Wednesday 02.09: 30th-anniversary dinner of the Penya Mallorquinista de Galilea football fan club, advance booking required (8 pm), Sa Plaça.

Friday 04.09: nature connection session at Sa Mola Gran (9 am, advance booking required); traditional games: skittles, sack races, tug of war, slingshot and spinning tops (10 am); beach volleyball tournament on the sand court (6 pm); photo exhibition from the former Terra Alta youth club, with a slideshow (6-8 pm, on the 4th, 5th and 6th); dinner at the square (8 pm); embutar game for ages 13+ with the Xeremiers de Son Roca bagpipers (10 pm); music night with Pollo al Curry and Bou Lovers (midnight).

Saturday 05.09: kite flying at Sa Mola (10.30 am); bird nest-box workshop (11.30 am); bird drawing workshop with Aina Bonner (12.30 pm); salt jar workshop at the multipurpose building (6 pm); singles vs. married couples football match at the sports centre (6.30 pm); Gran Revetla street party with Mercurio Retrógrado, Aftersuns and DJ Kavot (11 pm), Sa Plaça.

Sunday 06.09: water castles and a children's pool at the sports centre (10 am, subject to water availability); 2nd chess tournament at the multipurpose building (11 am); 11th charity run/walk for Càritas, €5 entry (6 pm); Horabauxa party with DJ El Niño Alcalino (8.30 pm), Sa Plaça.

Monday 07.09: the Cucorba children's entertainment group's farewell tour (7 pm), Sa Plaça.

Tuesday 08.09: street parade with the Xeremiers de Son Roca (10 am); solemn mass with the Ball de l'Oferta offering dance by the Escola de Ball de Galilea, at the Immaculate Conception church (11 am); tribute to the village's elders with an aperitif (noon); theatre performance «Tanatori 3» by the Trencadissa company (8.30 pm), Sa Plaça.

Friday 11.09: stargazing evening with Amado Carbonell, president of the Mallorca Astronomical Observatory, at Sa Mola (11 pm).

Saturday 12.09: guided hike along the Rota de Son Cotoner, starting from s'Escopidor (9.30 am); closing Festó with a shared dinner and prize-giving for the house decoration contest (9 pm), Sa Plaça.

ℹ️ Good to know

The house decoration contest runs from 28 August to 8 September; prizes are awarded at the Festó on 12 September (1st prize €100, 2nd prize €50, five participation prizes of €20 each).

Several activities require advance booking: the Dimoni de Neu workshop (tallerinfantilag@gmail.com), the Sa Mola Gran nature session (custodis.samolagran@gmail.com by 31 August) and the football fan club dinner (Jaume Pujol, +34 608 531 330).

The water castles on 06.09 may be cancelled if there are water restrictions in the municipality; updates will be posted on Amics de Galilea's Facebook and Instagram.
