Mallorca's most typical dish gets its own festival. Croquettes, squid, meatballs, Russian salad, mushrooms and that ever-present olive skewer: the variat leaves the bar counter and takes over the square. 🥘🎶

Mercat de Pere Garau organises the 2nd Fira del Variat, with the support of Palma City Council (És Fires i Mercats) and the Consell de Mallorca. Under the slogan "El Mercat de Pere Garau es mou" (Pere Garau market is on the move), the market heads outdoors.

🥘 What to expect

A variat is a mixed plate of small Mallorcan bites, the island's classic bar lunch. Participating restaurants and bars each serve their own version, so you can hop from stall to stall comparing recipes.

Beyond the food there will be live music, dancing, rides and children's entertainment. A plan for the whole family, from Saturday evening drinks to a long Sunday vermouth.

🏛️ Pere Garau, a market neighbourhood

Pere Garau market is one of Palma's liveliest municipal markets and the commercial heart of the area. This second edition expands the food and activity areas across both squares around the market.

ℹ️ Good to know: Sunday lunchtime is the busiest moment. For a calmer tasting, go on Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
