The Orquestra Simfònica Illes Balears, under the direction of Vicente Balaguer, presents a program at the Teatre Principal of Palma that unites composers and figures linked to the island.

🎼 The program
The concert will open with the Symphony No. 2 in E-flat major by Miquel Marqués, a key Mallorcan composer in 19th-century Spanish symphonic music.
The connection with Mallorca will continue with the first move of the Symphony no. 2, The missions of California, by Meredith Willson, inspired by the Franciscan friar Junípero Serra, born in Petra.
The program will be completed with Quatre danses i una albada by Vicente Asencio and the Suite No. 2 from The Three-Cornered Hat by Manuel de Falla, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth: a brilliant finale, full of rhythm and orchestral color.

The concert takes place in the Sala Gran del Teatre Principal, the historic stage of the Mallorcan capital and the usual headquarters of the Orquestra Simfònica Illes Balears.
