On 2 October 2026, the Palau March Summer Concerts close their season with one of the most recognised duos in the baroque repertoire. 🎶🏛️

Italian flautist Massimo Mercelli and Iranian pianist Ramin Bahrami present “Bach and Family” at the Juan Cencillo Auditorium, as part of the Deià International Music Festival.

📖 The programme

The recital sets father against son. From Johann Sebastian Bach: the Fuga canonica in Epidiapente from The Musical Offering BWV 1079, the Sonata in G major BWV 1022 and the Ricercar a 3 from the same Offering.

From Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach: the Sonata in D minor, the Sonata in C major Wq. 149 and the Sonata in C minor, a reworking drawn from his father's Musical Offering.

In between, Michael Nyman's Taking it as read (2016), a piece dedicated to Mercelli and Bahrami themselves.
