Nit de Sant Joan 2026

🔥 Nit de Sant Joan 2026 in Mallorca: fire, music, correfocs and local celebrations by municipality

Some nights mark the real beginning of summer, and in Mallorca, Sant Joan is definitely one of them.

Every 23 June, the island changes rhythm: squares fill up, villages bring music into the streets, dimonis appear, bonfires are lit and many people end the night by the sea, surrounded by rituals, wishes and midnight swims.

Sant Joan is a celebration of fire, water and community. It is experienced differently depending on the municipality: in Palma, with large concerts and a correfoc by Parc de la Mar; in Calvià Vila, with sopar a la fresca and music in the square; in Muro, with almost a full month of events; in Sineu, with village tradition; and in Son Servera, with its patron saint festivities.

Although the main night is Tuesday 23 June, many activities also take place on Wednesday 24 June, the day of Sant Joan, and in some municipalities the celebrations continue for several days.

✅ Why go

Because Sant Joan is one of Mallorca’s great collective summer rituals. You can experience it with concerts and fireworks in Palma, village atmosphere in Calvià Vila, a full programme in Muro, tradition in Sineu or patron saint festivities in Son Servera.

Many activities are also FREE, outdoors and suitable for different audiences.

✖️ Things to keep in mind

For correfocs, it is advisable to wear cotton clothing, long sleeves, closed shoes and to protect your eyes and head. It is also best to keep some distance if you are going with small children, pets or people who are sensitive to noise.

In Palma and at the busiest events, it is better to arrive early and check for possible traffic cuts or schedule changes.

If you are going to the beach for Sant Joan, check the local municipal rules first: not all areas allow fire, glass, amplified music or spontaneous celebrations.

🔥 Fire, the main symbol of the night

Sant Joan cannot be understood without fire. Bonfires, correfocs, dimonis and fireworks are part of a tradition that symbolises renewal, energy and the beginning of a new stage.

In Mallorca, fire is experienced in the streets: with music, drums, sparks, crowded squares and that atmosphere so typical of the island’s summer popular festivities.

🌊 The sea and midnight wishes

In coastal areas, many people celebrate Sant Joan by heading towards the sea. Midnight swims, written wishes, small symbolic rituals and gatherings on the beach are all part of the imagery of this night.

Beyond tradition, Sant Joan is the perfect excuse to start summer outdoors, with friends, music and plans that often continue late into the night.

🎶 Music, verbenas and village festivities

Sant Joan is also a verbena. In many municipalities there are concerts, DJs, ball de bot, local bands, popular dinners, children’s activities and events for all ages.

The best part is that each village celebrates it in its own way: some with large stages, others with a more local atmosphere, cultural programmes or full patron saint festivities.
