🎺 A journey through lost instruments

The Palma Municipal Wind Band opens its September season with Pangea, the project of Galician multi-instrumentalist Abraham Cupeiro, known for recovering and rebuilding ancient wind instruments from distant cultures.

The programme travels across continents and eras with instruments such as the Celtic carnyx, the horn and the Nordic lur, in dialogue with the repertoire of a contemporary symphonic band. The result is a concert as informative as it is spectacular, and it works just as well for seasoned concertgoers as for first-timers.

🎼 The Palma Municipal Wind Band

Founded in 1849, the Palma Municipal Wind Band is one of the oldest permanent ensembles in the Balearic Islands and a cornerstone of the city's musical life. Each season it combines symphonic band repertoire with outreach programmes, collaborations with guest soloists, and a strong presence in Palma's neighbourhoods and civic events.
