The play is a free adaptation of four short pieces by Russian writer Aleksandr Pushkin: El convidat de pedra (The Stone Guest), El cavaller avar (The Miserly Knight), Mozart i Salieri (Mozart and Salieri), and Una escena de Faust (A Scene from Faust). The action is set across Western Europe in different historical eras.
The narratives explore fundamental human impulses and vices: love, deceit, jealousy, greed, envy, and ambition, transformed into dramatic conflicts through iconic and universal characters.
