Summer in Andratx once again has its own soundtrack with Liendres a la Fresca 2026, an open-air concert series that takes place in some of the town's most beautiful locations. The JazzDara series, part of the Mallorca Jazz sa Pobla 2026 Festival, culminates with a concert by the Tomeu & Joan Garcias Quartet, a group that brings together two of Mallorca's most promising musicians on the current jazz scene. The performance will take place on August 20th at the Casal de Can Verdal, where they will premiere their new album.

The brothers Tomeu Garcias (trombone) and Joan Garcias (double bass) have developed brilliant musical careers both within and outside the Balearic Islands. Trained in some of the most prestigious musical centers in the country—the ESMUC and the Conservatori del Liceu—, respectively—, both have established themselves as role models for a new generation of performers who combine a solid education with a strong artistic personality.

In this project they join forces with the pianist Toni Vaquer and the drummer Enric Fuster, two essential names in Balearic jazz, to present a repertoire entirely composed of original works created during the last two years.

The album, which will be released during the summer of 2026, proposes a journey through different musical landscapes where the Brazilian choro, the samba and the more traditional jazzAlways from a contemporary perspective. Improvisation, melodic richness, and the constant dialogue between the four musicians transform each piece into a dynamic and nuanced experience. ✨

The magic of the historic piano returns to the Cartuja de Valldemossa with the opening concert of the XVII Pianino Festival 2026, starring the prestigious Japanese pianist Naruhiko Kawaguchi.

The recital will take place in the Cell of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand, a unique space where the composer spent the winter of 1838-1839 and where the extraordinary atmosphere that inspired part of his work is still preserved today.

Under the title "Chopin and Spanish composers"Naruhiko Kawaguchi will offer a program that explores the musical dialogue between European Romanticism and the Spanish piano tradition, performed on an exceptional original Pleyel piano from 1851, Chopin's preferred instrument.

Internationally recognized for his performances on historical instruments, Kawaguchi stands out for his sensitivity, elegance and deep knowledge of the romantic repertoire, offering the public a sound experience very close to what Chopin himself might have heard.
