Summer Concerts at the Palau March 2018 reaches its final stretch with this recital by the renowned Spanish pianist Josep Maria Colom (Barcelona, 1947). He has participated in important international competitions as an interpreter and also as a jury member, as in the Frédèrcic Chopin International Piano Competition in Poland.
Josep Maria Colom has been awarded in numerous competitions, in addition to receiving the Prize of the Ministry of Culture of Spain for the recordings of the complete sonatas of the eighteenth-century composer Manuel Blasco de Nebra.
In this concert he performs 24 Etudes of Frédéric Chopin, a series of studies for piano only published in the 1830s. In music, an Etude is a piece based on a single musical motif and aimed at mastering a specific technical skill.
