The artist Mariana Sarraute Argentina (Buenos Aires, 1971) presents in this solo exhibition a new series of works Los aires de Dios (The winds of God). In her work she uses traditional materials such as watercolor and acrylic on paper or canvas in large formats, which combines with new media to filter the images.
An example is the emptying of the contents of the image through repetition, fragmentation and recycling of stereotypes.
Held within the frame of the II Festival Miradas de Mujeres de Mallorca (II Festival Views of Women from Mallorca), organized by the association Mujeres en las Artes Visuales (MAV)( Women in the Visual Arts) with activities throughout the month of March. Nearly thirty spaces around the island have joined the initiative, which has more than fifty participants including artists, curators and lecturers.
The festival aims to get the exposure and spread the work carried out by women in the art world in Spain deserves. It is celebrated simultaneously in the rest of the autonomous communities.
