'Los árboles mueren de pie'

This is one of the most emblematic works of Spanish playwright Alejandro Casona (1903-1965), now taken to stage by Ibiza theater company Pedro Cañestro, directed by Guadalupe Cañestro.

The impressionist and symbolic theater of Casona achieved with Los árboles mueren de pie  (Trees die standing) one of his brightest plays. It tells the story of Mr. Balboa, with a heartless grandson who he once had to throw out of the house and since then he writes letters to his wife, who thinks they are from her grandson. But things get complicated when he decides to return home.
