Balancí (2023) is the latest project by the Mallorcan visual artist Laia Ventayol (Artà, 1984), which shows objects halfway between the rocker and the coat rack. On top are pieces of diving clothing that she found in 2022 in the synthetic fabric markets of Seoul. The object recreates the action of coming and going, of approach and distance, of forces that stretch and stretch.
Her lines of research deal with the circulation of knowledge and emotions, as well as collective work. She relates working with others to the act of diving into knowledge. On this occasion, she reaches out to the community
Haenyeo, especially diver Hyun sunijk Samdai.
