The second floor of the Museu de Porreres houses the exhibition Caminant a través de boscos imaginats, by artist Teresa Matas (Tortosa, 1947). A self-taught painter and sculptor, she began drawing and painting what surrounded her in the late 1970s.
In the eighties she looked for other techniques to express herself and entered several painting competitions in the Balearic Islands, obtaining, among others, the Medal of Honor at the Ateneo de Maó Spring Salon in 1987.
She has exhibited in galleries in Mallorca and in museums such as the Girona Art Museum, the Kunstmuseum in Bonn, the Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Palma and the Summerlee Museum in Scotland. She has represented Balearic art at international fairs such as ARCO, Arte-América, Art Miami and Art Frankfurt, among many others.
