‘El coloquio de los perros’

The Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico in co-production with Es Joglars does a review of this exemplary novel of Miguel de Cervantes starring two old dogs. Although it is known for this summary form, its actual title is Novel and dialogue, which passed between Cipión y Berganza, dogs of the Resurrection Hospital, which is situated in the city of Valladolid, outside the field gate, commonly called ‘Dogs of Mahudes'.

This production of El coloquio de los perros (the dialogue of the dogs) is a free adaptation from the novel in which intervene Albert Boadella, Martina Cabanas and Ramon Fontserè, who is also the director and is part of the cast along with Pilar Saenz, Dolors Tuneu, Xavi Sais and Xevi Vila.

Throughout their journey, two old dogs with the names Scipio and Berganza have been observing from their dumbness the entire human condition, the misery and the ridiculousness of the bipeds. Now, before the night ends and will disappear their gift of speech, they tell the authentic reality.

Released in 2012 this October it began its tour through theaters in Spain.
