The light and the Mediterranean landscape were key pieces in a generation of artists who devoted themselves to painting in Mallorca, between the late nineteenth century and the early twentieth century. Many of them came from abroad and others were born in Mallorca. And all of them form the artistic history of the island of the twentieth century.
This exhibition of paintings and sculptures presented by the Gallery Dionís Bennàssar of Pollença brings together medium format works of these artists, most of them done in oil or watercolor in which predominate the landscape of Mallorca.
In La deixa del geni we find paintings by Anglada Camarasa, Tito Cittadini, Dionís Bennàssar, Llorenç Cerdà, Ramon Nadal, Vives Llull, Roch Minuet, Tarrassó, Ferran Arasa, Joan Miralles, López Naguil, Miquel Llinàs, Joaquin Tudela, Segui Palou Guillem Bestard, Gabriel Vadell and Verburgh, along with sculptures of Joseph of Creeft and Jaume Mir.
