‘Emparaulant Turmeda 1355?-1423’

In 2023, the 600th anniversary of the death of the Mallorcan writer Anselm Turmeda (Palma 1355? - Tunisia, 1423), writer in Catalan and Arabic, Franciscan (OFM) and, after his conversion to Islam, senior Muslim official of the Tunisian customs.

For this reason, the vice-rector for Cultural Projection and the Open University commissioned this show, which premiered in September of last year.

On this occasion, it has been organized by the Porreres Cultural Group, with a selection of texts and presentation by Gabriel Ensenyat Pujol, professor at the Department of Catalan Philology and General Linguistics.
