Born in Japan, Leiko Ikemura lived in Spain and Switzerland until he settled permanently in Germany. He possesses an extensive work that includes painting, sculpture and drawing. He found his unique style in the nineties and since then has not left it.

His work is often explained as the result of the encounter between cultures, the loss of cultural identity and a reflection on the elimination of borders.
