Painter and photographer, Manuel Ballester (Madrid, 1960) won the National Photography Prize 2010. His career began painting with a special interest in the art of Italian and Flemish schools of the XV and XVIII century. In 1990, he began to combine painting and photography.
Ballester paints and photographs staircases, windows, walls, doors that lead to empty places, mysterious corners. He looks for a kind of accurate beauty. in all his work, from landscapes to urban visions, he plays with artifice and nature, fixing his view on desolate spaces. This exhibition is presented in the annual edition of PalmaPhoto.
