‘Hermanas’

The weight of Hermanas (Sisters) rests on the well-known actresses Amparo Larrañaga , Maria Pujalte and Marina San Jose , but the cast is completed by Amparo Fernández , Chisco Amado and Adrián Lamana.

Originally Released in Catalan as Germanes , this funny and profound comedy was created with the intention to talk about death through life. With a classical structure, it consists of a prologue, two acts an epilogue and a single space, the kitchen where three sisters meet after a year and let off steam with sorrows as well as joys.

Of this drama directed and dramatized by Carol López, the critics say: " It makes us laugh and it parts our soul , and then gives us the tools to try to rebuild it . The play begins and ends with a death. "

Carol Lopez is a household name in Catalan drama. Since 2010 she is the artistic director of the theatre la Villarroel of Barcelona , a venue that offers a  programming specialized in texts of alive , fresh and contemporary authors.

Hermanas has received numerous awards since it premiered in 2008 : f Premio Butaca for best play and Critics Award Barcelona Best Director for Carol Lopez and Critics Award of Barcelona for Best Actress for Amparo Fernandez.
