Exhibition of a body of work in which is shown the creative process of the Mallorcan classical sculptor and master of maestros Jaume Mir (Felanitx, 1915, Palma, 2012). Director and innovator of the School of Arts and Crafts, he chaired the Academy of Fine Arts of San Sebastián de Palma, an institution that he opened to new authors.
With his academic training and his interest in the Mediterranean, from the hands of Jaume Mir emerged human mythical or historical figures that gave meaning to an entire people and their traditions. For him the sculpture humanizes the space and forms a way to approach the human being.
His most known piece outside of Mallorca is the public statue of Miguel de Cervantes, raised in Lepanto, Greece.
