The film tells the story of a fictional Franz Kafka who lives in Prague in 1919. During the day he has a monotonous and impersonal work in an insurance company and in the evenings he engages in writing stories about men that turn into giant cockroaches.
Because of an unexpected event he becomes the suspect of murder of a good friend, which prompts him to investigate the case rather than stand aside.
This is the argument of this American movie by Steven Soderbergh in which the cast includes Jeremy Irons, Theresa Russell, Joel Grey, among others. Projected within the cycle Les nits gòtiques in the castillo de Bellver.
