Premiered in 1979, Manhattan is the first film directed by Woody Allen filmed in black and white and Panavision format. It stars Allen himself and one of his fetish actresses, Diane Keaton.
It tells the story of Isaac Davis, a gag writer for television, with two failed marriages and over forty. His last relationship is with a seventeen year old, but he falls in love with Mary Wilkie (Diane Keaton), the lover of his best friend.
Manhattan is part of the cycle Cinefilms organized by CineCiutat which includes twelve classics of film history in original version with subtitles in Castilian. It is held every Thursday from 24 January to 11 April.
