Pablo Mielgo directs the Orquestra Simfònica Illes Balears in this concert dedicated to the great work of Georf Friedrich Haendel, The Messiah HWV 56 (Der Messias in German), an oratorio composed in 1741 with influences from German cantatas. Although it has always been associated with Christmas, the work deals with the whole life of Jesus of Nazareth, not just his birth.
The soloists Tomeu Bibiloni (baritone), David Szigetvari (tenor), Anthea Pichanick (mezzo-soprano) and Irena Mas (soprano) will also take part.
Choirs: Coral Universitat Illes Balears, dirigida por Joan Company, Cor Sant Julià (Campos), Cor Ars Antiqua (Manacor) Orfeó Artanenc (Artà), Pro Musica Chorus (Sóller), Orfeó L’Harpa d’Inca, Orfeó Universitat de les Illes Balears and Capella Davídica (Ciutadella).
