‘El mono’

We already knew that truth is stranger than fiction, but it has been a long time that the circumstances of the moment did not serve as an argument in art to current levels. And this show is proof of that.

El mono  (The Monkey) is a production of the Valencian company Pot de Plom with texts, direction and interpretation of Xavi Castillo. The origin of this story came about on the day the components of the company realized that, with the excuse of crisis, "we increasingly have more obligations and less rights as citizens. The employment situation resembles more and more the one our grandparents and great-grandparents lived".

And then they asked themselves, are we experiencing an evolutionary regression? The answer was bleak. The apocalypse has come and Xavi Castillo assures us that the key to salvation is in El mono.
