Exhibition of a highlighted series by painter Alfred Lichter (Konigshütte, 1917- Alaró, 2012) with 29 paintings, with faces the painter created with the title Eccehomo in 2001when his fate was marked by a serious illness. He achieved to translate this unbearable state with the simultaneous expression of despair and hope, while following with the representation of eccehomo the tradition of artists such as Dürer, James Ensor or Lovis Corinth.
The eccehomo is a way of representing the Passion of Christ and the crown of thorns. Devoid of religious context also symbolizes the helplessness of man in a situation of existential despair. Alfred Lichter's paintings presented in this exhibition reflect the anger of the artist towards his own disintegration.
