‘Ports of Call’, by Margaret Hunter

This English painter and sculptor studied at the Glasgow School of Art and later moved to Berlin to continue her studies at the Hochschule der Künste, where she was a student of Georg Baselitz (1938).

With this German artist, who has been described as the 'first great archaic sculptor of the late XX' for his collection of African figures, Margaret Hunter (1948) maintains very evident connection points in her work, as can be seen in her wood sculptures that refer to the human figure.
