Palma hosts a unique exhibition that takes us back to the mid-19th century, highlighting the stay of Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin and his partner, writer George Sand (the pseudonym of Aurora Dupin), together with her son Maurice Sand.
The exhibition provides an intimate and well-documented glimpse into this extraordinary period in European cultural history. It features original handwritten letters between Chopin and Sand from the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, along with 19th-century paintings, engravings, and documents from institutions such as the Museum of Mallorca, the Municipal Collection, the Archive of the Kingdom of Mallorca, the Lluís Alemany Library (CIM), the Royal Academy of Medicine of the Balearic Islands, and private collections such as those of Boutroux-Ferrà, Jaume Llabrés Mulet, and Manuel Ripoll Billón.
An invitation to revisit the romantic and creative spirit of Palma through music, literature, and original historical documents that bring this remarkable love story back to life.
