This proposal of the 54th Pollença Festival is a unique opportunity to hear the songs of the Mexican Revolution and works of Silvestre Revueltas. All in the voice of Eugenia Leon, one of the most respected singers of the contemporary music scene in Mexico.
The first part includes two revolutionary songs, La Adelita and La Valentina, and four songs of Silvestre Revueltas: Duelo (second movement Homage to Garcia Lorca), Caminando, No sé por qué piensas tú, and the symphonic poem Sensemayá (original version for chamber orchestra). The narrator will be Jorge F. Hernández.
The second part is devoted to the soundtrack of the movie Redes, de Revueltas, interpreted by the Pollença Festival Orchestra under the direction of Angel Gil-Ordonez. The music will be accompanied by a screening of this Mexican production from 1936.
