‘White Lies’, by Natasha Zupan

This is the latest project of this painter born in Georgia (USA) and who has in Mallorca one of her usual residences. She is the daughter of famous Slovenian landscape painter Bruno Zupan, who also came to the island looking for the light and to spent summers with the family.

The works in the exhibition White Lies are all white boxes, inviting reflection on the lie of art. In them she joins all her styles within a conceptual dialogue on representation of things.

Held within the frame of the II Festival Miradas de Mujeres de Mallorca (II Festival Views of Women from Mallorca), organized by the association Mujeres en las Artes Visuales (MAV)( Women in the Visual Arts) with activities throughout the month of March. Nearly thirty spaces around the island have joined the initiative, which has more than fifty participants including artists, curators and lecturers.

The festival aims to get the exposure and spread the work carried out by women in the art world in Spain deserves. It is celebrated simultaneously in the rest of the autonomous communities.
