Anna Mieke is an Irish composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with a proposal that is undoubtedly rooted in the folk tradition of her country. She has an elegant and cosmopolitan character thanks to her training as an ethnomusicologist and her exploring spirit has led her to tour Europe by bike, learn Maori songs in New Zealand, live in Granada or travel to Bulgaria to delve into their folk.
Anna Mieke resides in County Wicklow, from where she independently released her debut album Idle Mind in April 2019, for which she earned a Best Emerging Artist nomination at the prestigious RTÉ Folk Awards. The album received excellent reviews from both the general and specialized press.
In November 2022, she released her second album Theatre, for which she was nominated for Best Album of the Year at the Ireland's Choice Awards.
