The International Music Festival of Deià ends with this concert commemorating the centenary of Finland's independence in 2017 (in 1809 it had been annexed by the Russian Empire).
Featuring soloists Hedvig Paulig (soprano), Jouni Kokora (bajobaritono), Einari Liikkanen (violin) and Gustav Djupsjöbacka (piano). The program is dedicated to Finnish composers, with works by Toivo Kuula, Yrjö Kilpinen, Leevi Madetoja and Oskar Merikanto.
Deià International Music Festival, with artistic direction by Alfredo Oyágüez Montero (Madrid, 1967), is celebrated from May 4 to October 5 with concerts in la Sala de Música de la Casa Museu de Son Marroig, one of the Old properties of the Archduke Luis Salvador in the Serra de Tramuntana. From its terraces you can see a spectacular sunset over the sea.
