This unique document, directed by Murray Lerner, treasures a historic moment in the world of music: the performance of Miles Davis on August 29, 1970 at the Festival of the Isle of Wight before 600 thousand spectators, who witnessed one of the most amazing jazz improvisations to be remembered.
The documentary includes recent interviews with the musicians who accompanied him in that recital and several reports of the musician and trumpeter, arguing his move to electric jazz with his own words.
Also appear figures as Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Santana, Keith Jarrett, Joni Mitchell and Ron Carter among others. They all show their fascination for the creator of Kind Of Blue, the most valued and sold album in the history of jazz.
A different Kind of Blue (2004) is screened in the original version of the Film and Jazz Series, which is programmed by the 11th edition of the Jazz Voyeur Festival.
