Alcúdia kicks off its summer festival with tradition, rhythm and celebration

Spanish

On Friday, July 18, the town of Alcúdia launches its festivities with a vibrant program of cultural pride, community and live music.

Festivities begin at 7:00 PM with a lively parade from the Porta del Moll to Can Torró Library, led by the town’s beloved Gegants d’Alcúdia (giant figures) and the infectious percussion of Trons del Nord, a local batucada group.

At 7:30 PM, the official opening speech (Pregó) will be delivered at Plaça de l’Església de Sant Jaume by Pedro Fiol Vera, president of the Balearic Association of Travel Agencies (AVIBA). After the speech, guests can enjoy refreshments and live music with the Oliver-Sellés Duo (saxophone and piano).

At 10:00 PM, the celebration continues at the Plaça de Toros with live concerts by Bona Ventura and the popular Els Catarres, promising an unforgettable night of music and dance.

The opening speech will be broadcast live on Alcúdia Ràdio (94.7 FM) and streamed at www.alcudiaradio.com.
Don’t miss the start of the summer’s most festive celebration!
