Alexei Volodin This Russian pianist (born in St. Petersburg in 1977) has been awarded in several international competitions. Among these is worth mentioning the first prize in the Géza Anda in Zurich in 2003, which gave a decisive impulse to his career. He has played with the most prestigious European orchestras (Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre, Berlin Radio Orchestra, the Moscow Tchaikovsky Symphony ...) and in 2005 he debuted at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris with acclaim from both critics and public alike.
He recently signed an exclusive contract with the label Chalenge Classics and his latest work, of May 2010, is dedicated to works by Chopin.
The program for this concert, held in the new edition of Valldemossa Chopin Festival is dedicated entirely to the Polish composer. Alexei Volodin performs four Impromptus, Barcarolle, Polonaise-Fantasy and Preludes op. 28.
