Singer, songwriter and pianist British Anthony Strong (1984) is an endangered species. One of the few examples of crooner that keeps alive the referents of Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Tony Bennett in the XXI century and takes them to his own sphere.
In 2009 he released his first album, Guaranteed, and in 2015 a collection of fresh and live songs collected under the title On a clear day, his latest album. Strong brings a fresh look to jazz music full of energy.
Anthony Strong (piano and voice) arrives at the 22nd edition of the Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla accompanied by Spencer Brown (bass), Dave Ohm (drums), Gav Broom (trumpet) and Alam Nathoo (saxophone).
The Festival Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla is organized by the City Council of Sa Pobla and programs five free outdoor concerts, held in the Plaça Major from August2 to 6. It also includes the 11th International Jazz Seminar with the Traveling School, a masterclass of saxophonist Perico Sambeat and an exhibition of photographs of Dani Álvarez in the Sala es Cavallets. It is one of the most anticipated events of the year in Mallorca for jazz lovers.
