The third date with the cycle Invierno Pianístico in Musicalen is this recital of the young pianist from Valencia Antonio Galera (Picannya, 1984), considered by critics as one of the most reliable values of the new Spanish piano scene.
He has won important awards, such as the Yamaha Music Foundation Of Europe in 2005, and has performed in several countries in Europe, America and Asia promoted by the program of ICPA (International Certificate for Piano Artists).
Antonio Galera proposes in this concert a program with a first part composed by Nocturno (song) and two Nocturnos op. 27 (Larghetto in D minor and Sostenuto in D flat major) by Manuel de Falla (1876-1946); and Barcarolle op. 60 in F sharp major, by Frédéric Chopin.
The second part is dedicated to the Goyesca Suite of Enrique Granados, of whom the first centenary of his death has just been celebrated. The Spanish composer, born in Lérida in 1867, died in March 1916 in the wreck of the Sussex ship in the Channel, after being bombed by the German navy in the First World War.
Goyescas, subtitled Los majos enamorados, is his most famous piano work and tells the love story between a maja and a majo from the time they meet (Los Requiebros) to the death and later appearance of their spectrum (Serenata del Espectro). In between, the pieces Coloquio en la reja, El fandango del candil, Quejas, or La Maja y el ruiseñor and El amor y la muerte.
