This concert tribute to the Italian composer Armando Trobajoli was recorded on April 28, 2007 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, performed by the orchestra and the choir of the Acadèmia de Santa Cecília under the direction of Franco Petracchi. Accompanied by violinist Massimo Quarta, and the honoree himself on the piano.
Armando Trobajoli (Rome, 1917-2013) was a child prodigy who was already playing the violin at the age of four and with six the piano. He accompanied great jazz performers such as Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker and Stéphane Grappelli. He debuted in the film composition in 1952 with the police drama Li tratte delle bianche, directed by Luigi Comencino.
