Assumption of the Virgen

For years, Mallorca celebrates this festivity in a very special way. The churches of the Palma and the villages of Mallorca open so that the visitors can see pictures of resting virgens, a liturgical expression that has also become an artistic and popular manifestation. The Consell de Mallorca edits a program that includes the churches whre you can visit the beds of the virgins that are asleep.

This year, the towns and cities of Mallorca where you can visit are:
Palma de Mallorca, Alaró, Algaida, S'Arracó (Andratx), Artà, Binissalem, Calvià, Campanet, Campos, Capdepera, Costitx, Deià, Felanitx, Fprnalutx, Manacor, Maria de la Salut, Montuïri, Muro, Petra, Pina, Sa Pobla, Porreres, Puigpunyent, Sant Joan, Santa Maria del Camí, Santanyí, Sencelles, Sineu, Sóller and Valldemossa.
